Narrative
LAWRENCE CO., AR –A 60-year-old man died and two people sustained injuries Thursday in a 3-vehicle crash involving a semi in northeast Lawrence County.
The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on US-67 just north of Walnut Ridge and south of Pocohontas.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the victim’s northbound 2007 Toyota Yaris entered the southbound side of the highway and collided head-on with a 2021 Ford Expedition. The Ford then travelled into the northbound lanes and crashed into a 2022 Freightliner.
The driver of the Yaris died at the scene. Authorities identified him as Robert Freeman.
Medics transported a passenger from the Freightliner and the driver of the Ford to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
