NEAR PERLA, AR – A 28-year-old man failed to negotiate a curve on Highway 67, leading him to crash his 2022 GMC into a pole and ditch Sunday, claiming the life of his passenger.
This collision happened near Giles Drive before 9:30 p.m.. The impact of this collision led the car to overturn. First responders took the driver, Lane Ballard, to CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, where he is recovering. Vickie Ballard, the passenger, died a short time later. It is unclear if Vickcie was taken to a hospital where she died or if she succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene.
