Narrative
EUREKA SPRINGS, AR – A married couple died this past Friday in a wrong-way crash along the highway in northwest Carroll County.
The accident happened shortly before 11:30 a.m. on US-62 in the city of Eureka Springs, about 40 miles east of Bentonville.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the couple’s eastbound Ford Escape entered the westbound side of the highway and collided head-on with a westbound school bus.
Authorities pronounced the driver and passenger in the SUV deceased at the scene, identifying them as Deborah Clark, 74, and Richard Clark, 77.
It’s unclear if there were any students on the bus at the time of the wreck. Nobody on the bus sustained injuries.
