Narrative
MADISON CO., AR – A wrong-way crash along the highway in northwest Madison County killed two people and injured one other on Friday.
The incident occurred around 5:25 a.m. on AR-45 , which runs east to west from Hindsville to to eastern Fayetteville.
Police say that the driver of a southbound vehicle lost control of their car while negotiating a curve, crossed into the northbound lanes of traffic, and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle. The wrong-way vehicle rolled following the crash.
The driver and passenger in the wrong-way vehicle died at the scene of the accident. Authorities identified the victims as 40-year-old Rafael Cruz-Fermaint and 19-yaer-old Ulises Lemus-Tobar.
Medics transported the other driver to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
